Friday Flip Offs 10.8

Friday! I feel like a big ol' Yabba Dabba Dooooo - sliding down the fat tail of a dinosaur and clocking out of work for the week. If only stay-home-moms could clock out on Friday at 5, huh? I wish that for y'all.

Gigi's more than half way done with her blogging event, so you must put up with me for the Friday Flip Offs again.

OK. So my continual flip off? MotherFuckinCancer!!! Grrrr. My girl, my best friend who's has stage 2 breast cancer...well, she was supposed to have her lumpectomy on the 6th and a few days prior to that, while I was on vacation actually, she had another MRI driven biopsy...her cancer has spread. They skipped the lumpectomy and have scheduled her for a double mastectomy. Both "Ladies," being cut off. On the 21st.

Dammit.

She seems pretty positive. She said - "I'll never get breast cancer again." God love her. As soon as she heals, she'll move on with the chemo and then radiation.

She's strong. She's beautiful. She's hysterically funny.

She's still sick.

She's going to kick some cancer ass.

Not to mention, she's all "no pink" and there's pink shit EVERYWHERE for awareness month. Do not get me wrong, any time a cause is touted, it's a good thing...but avoiding pink for A isn't easy right now.

Yesterday, A's birthday, I re-posted and updated about her on the group blog Band Back Together. What an amazing, supportive group over there. As soon as Aunt Becky designs the Cancer is Bullshit t-shirt, I'm all over it. [thank you Natalie from Mommy of a Monster for sharing the info].

I'd also like to say Fuck You to red eye flights and time zones. Had the best BEST weekend in Cali with the girls, but holy hell my body still hasn't adjusted to the time zone change. The red eye sucked [thanks in part to the asshole teenager reading her homework on the plane. Out. Loud. Then discussing it with her father. Out. Loud]. I'm still exhausted. I think next time I go to CaliForN.I.A. I'll stay much longer. It's only fair to my body & all.

Apparently some people are boycotting blogs today. Pshaw. Double Crusted Flip Offs to you. Unless you visit me here. Then you get a big fat hug AND an ass smack :x

Oh, Also, Eff Off inside out assholes. That's all.

Link Up, YO!

I actually would prefer a shirt that says "cancer is an asshole."

just much more to the point, you know? Your friend continues to amaze me. If I could be half as brave as her in my life I'd be proud.

Yeah, what is up with the boycotting thing? I saw it posted a couple different places but didn't think to look into it any further. Mostly because... well, it sounds a little silly to me. To each their own, I guess. Still don't really get it, though.

Sorry the time change has screwed you up so. Staying longer next time is probably the best solution. I agree.

SOrry about the cancer =(
And I feel you on the California stuff. I've gone back and forth from CA to Jersey and back. It's a killer.

Your friend sounds so strong. You know, I never really thought about the pink thing- she has to be smacked in the face with it EVERYWHERE she goes. I can't think of a single place that isn't plastered in pink for this month. While awareness is good, I often wonder about how it feels to see all that when it isn't just about awareness, but about your life.

Can't ever do a blog boycott day- at least not on a Friday. Have to help promote whoever my BFF is.

Thanks for the shout out! I'm here, and I love ass smacks so I want two, please.

A is amazing. She has no idea the level of support she has. Maybe one day you'll share this with her - it'd knock her off her feet. :)

Cancer is fucking bullshit, right? And I'm seriously gonna buy you that t-shirt...

Flipping off cancer with ya.

And when D1 is a teen, if she's discussing her H/W w/ me on a red-eye flight? You best believe I'm flipping her off.

Also, Natalie can take my smack for me.

Cancer is one nasty muthafucka. I really admire A for her positive outlook. Cancer took my bestie's mom less than 2 months after she was diagnosed last year, it was the worst.thing.EVER.

When you get one of those T-shirts.. I want one too!

If you smack me, I will smack you back... haha.. Dammit!

Dude, I just got an ass-smack. Awesome. Have you ever played smack-ass? It's quiet fun. Especially when drunk. Well, really only when drunk.

Your friend is a trouper. But it's so important that she keep that positive attitude.

As for your attitude, well, I wish I could bottle and sell it.

I can multitask and why do I always forget flip-offs?
I hope when she's done she has a rack that rivals Christina Applegates that stand at attention and don't drop below the belt line like, well mine.

Too much alike.

I still love to pull pigtails and assmack.

I can't help it.

People at work know no one is safe bending over in front of me...I gotta just hit it.

And your friend is so very very lucky having you.

What a HUGE diference it is going to make to her, knowing you will be checking on her, helping her, thinking of her.

How awful to go through this without a a solid girl by your side.

You're going to help her beat this...with all your positive vibes going her way. Her body will feel the loving energy...no lie.

Please let us know how she does...
