Do you ever...

Do you ever wonder...if you just walked away, into the unknown, how long until you're missed?

Would they even miss you?

The smile that used to be ever present and radiant?

The eyes that used to twinkle with laughs?

The head that tilts to listen?

Do you ever wonder if they would miss the smell of your coffee?

The cinnamony sugary french toast?

The grilled cheese fingers?

The memorized number to the asian fusian place?

Do you ever wonder if friends would notice the drop in texts?

The lack of phone calls?

The birthday cards not arriving?

Do you ever wonder if they would miss the soul and essence of your person, or just the acts that the person performs?

The grocery shopping?

The daycare arrangements?

The making of doctor's appointments?

The folding of laundry?

The packing of lunches?

The 2am comforting?

Do you ever wonder, if you did walk away into the unknown, would you miss it?

The bickering and whining and fighting?

The eyes that see through you?

The feelings of everyone else coming first?

Do you ever wonder?

Do you?

You know. This was an interesting post. I did an experiment about 3 years ago. I was always the one that would email all my friends first thing in the morning. And then they would answer. Then I got the attitude of, well, lets just see if you email me if I stop. one, two, three days go by. nothing. not even a, hey, are you ok. 3 years later, I still haven't heard from those "supposed" friends.

But if I don't post on my blog for one day, I get, "are you ok". I feel like I have found some good friends that care about me on here.

So I'll say hi!!!!!!!

Okay, girlie. You need to grab my Pour Your Heart Out button and link up tomorrow- well, the linky will be up in a little over 2 hours.

For everyone else who is reading this and thinking that I'm being really bossy and annoying, MommaKiss and I are like bloggy bff's, so I'm allowed to say this to her.

I do wonder...and I think that my kids would miss me, my husband...and then, it would take everyone else a long time to realize or give a damn.

You hit a nerve with me today. I was wondering the same thing. Then I remembered last August when I got the flu. It was the first time the kids had ever seen me sick. My oldest daughter was so worried about me she finally pulled herself away from the TV long enough to come over and rub my back for a moment ... after two moments she said, "Mommy who's going to make us lunch?" She'll at least miss my grilled cheese fingers ... :))

I'm with Shell. On all of that. Kids and hubs would miss me. As Dazee said, I've sort of dropped out of circulation a few times and it's amazing how few people noticed or cared.

LOVE the post.

I wonder. All. The. Time.

Some days, I feel like I'm taken for granted. Other days, I feel like I'm the one taking things/people for granted.

Such is the life of a mom, I suppose........but I won't lie. There are times when I really wish I could just walk away. And, I'm not sure I'll miss a thing.

I have definitely wondered. I know that there are some people who would miss me-the real me, and not just what I do. But I'm not sure just how many of them there would be.

That thought has definitely crossed my mind from time to time.

And for the record, I'd miss you. Now where's that martini shaker? :)

I have not shared my domestic knowledge in this household with a soul, thereby creating myself into an irreplaceable entity.

Hells, yeah, they couldn't make it a minute with out me.

This was so great! I have thought about it and know my family couldn't make it without me {or at least I'd like to think that}!

There's a scene in Knocked Up where the two guys talk about fears of marriage -- one of them being that you can't just pick up & move to India for a year. Of course, few want to pick up & move to India for a year, but that's irrelevant. There are actions that you can take that prohibit you from picking up & moving to India for a year.

And, while I'd never want to go to India - I do wonder what it would be like to just run about for awhile - couple of days, maybe a week, maybe a few years...just get out of the, well, whatever-the-hell I'm in now. Of course, I can't, but I wonder - it's fun to let the mind wander to certain places.

Anyway, mommma, wonderful post :-)

I know that after a while I would miss the daily grind. And back when I was a messed up teenager, (ok, not that messed up), I used to wonder all the time if I just up and disappeared would anyone even notice. All the time.

All the time! So much so that I felt I could write a story about it - which I did, and I'm posting. A fictional tale about a mommy-wife like many of us with girlfriends who make her roar with laughter and a hubby who makes her roll her eyes and, well, think "What If...." I hope you will take a peek, for the giggle, and maybe spread the word.

I guess I've wondered this. In my world of relationships, whether they be love relationships, friendships, or family-ships... ;o) I am the instigator of contacts.

It sucks to supposedly be loved by someone, and one day it dawns on you that you seem to be the one responsible for making sure contact is made on any given day...

On my road trip last week, about the middle of the week, my secretary at work texted me... just wanting to know if I was ok... that was nice.

I remember on Fathers' Day, I received text message wishes from three ex-gfs and my ex-wife before I ever heard from my kids... I guess that says a lot... that from the standpoint of the failed marriage and three failed relationships, they feel that they can still contact me... eventually I did hear from my kids... but it was well late in the day.

Great questions you ask here... They aren't a reflection on the one posing the questions... it's a reflection on those that we consider friends...

I think all Mommies wonder this. We feel like we become a machine instead of a person. So many schedules and errands we begin to wonder if we the person counts. Would they miss who we are not just what we do!Happy Mothering! We'd notice!

Hey... very thought prvoking (found you on Shell's PYHO); Like her, I think my hubby and kids would miss me instantly. Not just the folding laundry/cooking meals bit. I think they would miss the softness that a mama brings into the family. But everybody else????
Nope. Don't think they would miss me at all.
(Feeling sorry for myself now)
I think everyone's lives are being lived at such breakneck speed; so full of activity and busyness that it would take MONTHS before anyone thought to say, "Hey, has anyone heard from Simone lately??"
Sniff Sniff.
But I'd love to be proved wrong about that.

Hell yeah, I wonder. Motherhood is sometimes the most thankless job in the world. Things are little rough in my house at the moment seeing as how my son is insane and all. Shall we book a one-way ticket to Bora Bora?

You made me cry. Because, well, you know what i'm going through...

Would they miss me? Be better without me? Happier?

Would I miss them? Be happier?

You should have warned me.

My kids wouldn't miss me. At all.
My husband would because he'd be stuck with said kids and would be vagina-less.
My friends, no tellin' but if they didn't they're not really friends.

Luff ya!
