First Toof

My baby has lost his first tooth on Saturday.

Fine he's almost 6, he's not a baby. Whatever.

I'm having a hard time with this. His first tooth. Gone. Right up front, too, so I see it every time he smiles.  And he's got like 5 other teeth that are loose. They're going to start falling out like a meth head's teeth fall out. I know this. But the first one? Crushing me.

Murphy's Law, we had an appointment scheduled for pictures Saturday. I needed updated pics of the kids and well, now this day is professionally documented.  Sigh. He's a cute little turd, isn't he?

I'm a sap.

Again, whatever.

Just let me wallow in this milestone, will ya?

Agreed, much cuter than a meth head. What's the going rate for a tooth these days?

The kid got $5. He thought he was getting $10 because some liar of a classmate said that's what he got.

Also? Good thing my friend A stayed over that night. With cash. Or he'd have received a check.

I love the thought of a check from the Toof Fairy.

Don't worry about wallowing. I had a conniption yesterday when my 9 month old daughter grabbed a hold of a table leg, dragged herself into a standing position, grinned at me with her 3 1/2 teef and said "Hi!"

Bastards won't listen when we say "stop growing".

Wallow away, my dear.
I'm gushing over molars coming in... I'll be a big puddle when a tooth finally comes out!

Saps are sweet.

I've definitely had to borrow Tooth Fairy money from people unlucky enough to be with me when I remembered "Crap! I have no cash!"

This is because I never have cash. Ever.

Hang in there, mama. We all understand the wallow. For sure.

I had a hard time with the first tooth too. And then, yes, they all came falling out like a meth head. He's lost 9 and he's only 6.5. *sigh*

He still looks cute even though he is toofless.

If you do the whole tooth fairy thing just make sure you put the tooth somewhere he can't find it later on.

The timing with the photos could not be worse!

Does taking pictures AND video of the first time my kid ate solid foods qualify me as a sap? Uh...I don't think there's a name for how sappy that is. Lol

Trust my I'll take a million pics when my kid loses his first tooth!

I think it's unfair of nature to allow their body parts to fall off.

Come to Momma Kim. We'll get through this. Just this morning my son wanted to stand up to pee in the toilet "Just like Daddy" and by golly, he stood up on that stool proudly and aimed is willy right into the bowl and peed. No splashes. None. Heck, he did it better than Daddy.
Anypiss, I had a moment. I may have cried a bit.

And I love his crown and glasses. Are those an upgrade from the photographer? ;)
Congrats on the toof--to both of you.

I'd be blubbering like a baby. My five and a half year old's preschool buddies are losing them right and left and he is dying to as well. I just keep thinking I'll pick it back up when it falls out and tape it back or something. I am in big denial over this "baby tooth" sitch, I feel ya.

I hear ya!!! cos it took me days to get over the loss of my lil girl's first tooth. I hold on to it with my dear life, and then of course my lil one had to accidentally forgot where she put it, and so I lost that first tooth and had a fit all over again.

Teeth totally creep me out so when my son started losing them? I just didn't want them to keep falling out. I think he's done for now. Which is good. SO gross. After the 3rd one you'll be ok.

Like you, just the other night I referred to my 5 y.o. as "my baby." I'm really missing him being back at work. It's totally caught me off guard. Harder than when i went back from maternity leave.

$5! Generous.
When my kids used to say their friend or whatever got $10 from the toothfairy, my husband would explain supply and demand to them. He would tell them the amount depends on how the market is doing. The tooth market.

pass that outfit on down to me, kay? Thanks. Violet just lost her 5th tooth this morning and it pains me. So much. Makes them look so old! Which makes me old. Wait. Never mind.

LOVE that toothless grin - they are the best :)
We did $20 a tooth for the first four - no kidding. Tooth came out late at night, nothing under a $20, another the night after ... we had not learned.
So it became $20 for the first four, then after that The Tooth Fairy brings as many dollars as the number of years you are ... don't ask me where I came up with that?
btw, we were NOT popular at school

I thought I was the only one that got all sappy when my kids lose teeth. I used to cry every time with my oldest. I realize I have to get it together before my younger ones start losing teeth. They are so close in age I will be blubbering daily.
He looks adorable!

It won't be long before my oldest loses one. I cried when he told me one was loose. It turned out it wasn't really loose. I'm a goon.
