I totally thought today was Monday

Wait. What?

I have access to blogger.

AT work.

And it's working? We'll see if this post goes through.

So happy belated Memorial Day! Do you say that? For Memorial Day? Is it really happy? Probably not, but I do truly thank all of the veterans out there for their service.

We were non-stop this weekend, and it was gorgeous out. 'Bout time, we needed some fucking sun.

Saturday I did my longest walk ever. EVER. And my feet paid the price. I used moleskin on the places I usually blister. Well now I know I blister between my toes. Yep. My toes are shredded. Thank God for our pool because I soaked my sore body as soon as I got home.

We had other crap going on every day, but ended with family time in the pool. The boys are like fish and I love it. We all have nice little tan lines and are ready for whatever amount of summer New England allows (read: short & fucking hot).

Anyone know anything about Allentown, PA? Me either. But Mr. Kiss is there right now interviewing for a job. It's the perfect position, duties and responsibilities. But it's in Allentown, PA.

Jaysus.

So I have 8-ish weeks to go til the 3 Day walk. I'm pretty sure it's going to kill me. Hopefully Poppy will give a nice eulogy at my funeral.

And finally, tomorrow? June 1? My Big Kiss turns 6. SIX. I'm still amazed someone let me be a mother, much less for 6 years now. That little schmoopy kid is the sweetest and I never want him to turn into an angsty teenager. Please say he won't? Or lie to me?

I'ma hit publish, let's see if it works. And if so, can anyone comment? Stupid blogger.

Oh, 6???? Happy big birthday to him!

Yay for being able to post at work!

Comments are being weird- for embedded ones like this, if you select comment as name/url or your open id, it will work. For ones that you click on post a comment and a window pops up, it seems like you can still use your google id for that kind.

Yes, one can comment! Sounds like an awesome weekend. And here's a early birthday wish to your little (or not so little) one!!!

I wish today was Monday, because I wouldn't be at work right now.

Good luck with the 3-Day. A few years ago I supported a friend who was doing it the only way I could back then: I trained with her. It was, actually, kind of fun. I think the most we did was 18.5 miles one Saturday morning. Then I went home, took a shower, and went to a football game with her husband. I was so damn tired before we even got to the stadium.

I swear, if you move to Allentown before we get to hang out, I'm going to be so PISSED.

But my fingers are crossed for him. Job searches SUCK.

And I hope you have some comfy shoes on.

SIX?? Shut the front door!! Jaysus.

I don't know squat about Allentown PA except that it's closer to me.

And your beautiful weekend? It's currently raining. In California!!

Poor little piggies.

Didn't Billy Joel write a song about Allentown?

I am totally jealous of your pool. I wished that we had one so bad yesterday. We used to have one of those 4 ft pools but it sprung a leak. =(

Good luck with the 3-Day. You are a better woman than I am. I am too lazy to do anything like that.

My youngest is turning 6 in August. I am not ready for that! My son turns 10 in August. YIKES! Happy Birthday to Big Kiss!!

I agree stupid blogger.

My Baby Baby turns 5 on the 9th. I can't even believe it.

I don't know about PA. But it doesn't really sound great. At least you wouldn't have a big weather adjustment.

Yeah for your pool and boo for your feet.

Good luck on your walk.

Why all the Allentown haters?? I grew up there and there's a lot of good to be said for it. I won't bore you with all the details but I'll admit that it is sorely lacking in a lovely downtown area. However, once you get outside of the city, there are tons of lovely neighborhoods and small towns. Plus, NYC is only a 90-min drive/cheap bus ride from Charcoal Diner and Philly is just 45 mins away. There are great schools, lots of festivals and Dorney Park! (OK, that may be my childhood nostaglia creeping in).

My sister and I have been begging for a pool since we were around four years old. We still do (3 decades later)....they still say no. Hopefully soon it'll be my turn to say no too :)

Happy birthday big boy! 6! Time flies!

Yes blogger is highly annoying recently.

Six was a hard birthday. Six seems so old. I'll be crying when my oldest turns seven in August.

My 22 year old cousin still greets his father with a kiss and a hug. He posts that he loves us on Facebook.

And he gets dates and everything so it's not just that he's some creepy weirdo kid.

So, you've got a shot.

I can tell you that 6 is a whole heck of a lot better than 11. Six year olds don't need deodorant.

Don't know a thing about Allentown other than what Billy Joel taught me.

All I know about Allentown is the Billy Joel song and I'm not sure that'll help.
Have a great 6th birthday celebration tomorrow.

Moleskin is the best. Buy stock in that crap before your walk.

It's totally worth it.

As for the big b-day?

Oh my. Sweet and schmoopy ~ I love that description.

For the record, my son is almost 14 and he hasn't turned angsty at all.

In fact, he was a bit of a pain in the ass before, so now he is actually getting BETTER.

My daughter, on the other hand...let's just say they're trading places.

So hug your boys.

(and buy moleskin.)

xoxo

Ok is moleskin really moleskin or just something that is referred as moleskin...not that I'm with PETA because I can take down a rack of ribs like an ethiopian starving.
That was wrong. Totally wrong.

Congrats on the walk! Blisters in between your toes? How did you pull that off? I never know to say Happy Memorial Day either. I thought about that a lot yesterday because that's just my personality. I'll end there.

I have it on excellent authority that your Big Kiss will absolutely not turn into an angsty teenager!
Allentown could well be another way of spelling Adventure :)

Kids are little assholes, demanding to get bigger & older despite whatever we tell them.

You have the walk well in toe (*rimshot*). I think the reason I started swimming so much was primarily because of a bad blister on the side of my foot from a long run that never went away. Pool water felt quote good.

Allentown is 90 minutes from me - close enough to NYC, Philly, Baltomore, and DC. It was a real steel town that is still trying to figure out what to do with itself without the industry. There's a lot of IT start-ups about, a few notable but small colleges, and two kick-ass amusement parks well within driving distance.

I remember when sweet and schmoopy was a "whole hand!" Congrats Momma on the anniversary of becoming a mother.

Now any chance we'll see some pics of your poolside hotness?

And good luck, Mister Kiss.

Happy birthday to him!!! I have to say that 6, so far, is an awesome age, except for the whole "know it all" attitude, they are rather sweet and fun to have conversations with!

Sorry about the blisters...yikes!

The big 6!!!! Congrats on your 6 year anniversary as a mommy! And I'm feeling the same as you. My big boy is about to turn 7 this summer and I can't believe it's going by so fast. Before I know it, he won't want to marry me anymore, instead he'll be afraid to be seen anywhere near me. Help! Let's slow down the clocks so we can cherish every moment before they pass on by. PS Hope your toes feel better. xoxoxo

Jaysus lives in Allentown, which is like, oh 45 minutes from me. So we'll do the pigs and beer thing together. :) My Violet turned 8 yesterday -- 8! How?? How they ever let me out of the hospital with a baby . . then 2 more after that is something I'll never understand. :) Happy BIRTH Day to you!

I'm struggling with the word 'moleskin.' Mole. Skin. I hate both parts of that word.

I know nothing about PA, but it's further from me so it can't be all that great.
